How do I manage image aspect ratios

By Declan · Updated May 2026

Change the aspect ratio of any image in your SendSite and reposition the crop so the photo looks right inside its section.

Aspect ratio controls let you reshape any image in a section without leaving the editor. Pick a preset, then nudge the visible area until the framing is right.

A consistent aspect ration is important for slideshows and galleries to get that professional, designed look.

Hover over the image you want to adjust

In the editor, move your cursor over the image. A small toolbar appears in the top-left corner of the image with a wrench icon and a crop icon.

Click the crop icon

The crop icon sits next to the wrench at the top-left of the image. Clicking it opens the aspect ratio menu directly over the image.

Choose an aspect ratio

Select one of the presets: Natural, 16:9, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 9:16, 4:5, 3:4, or 2:3. Natural keeps the image’s original proportions; the others crop to a fixed shape.

Tip

The section layout adjusts to fit the new ratio, so tall ratios like 9:16 or 3:4 will make the section grow vertically.

Reposition the crop

After you pick a ratio, a slider appears along the bottom or side of the image. Drag it to shift the visible area until the subject of the photo is framed the way you want.

Click outside the image to confirm

Click anywhere outside the image to close the crop controls. Your aspect ratio and crop position save automatically.

If you don’t like the result, hover the image, click the crop icon again, and choose Natural to return to the original proportions. You can change the ratio as many times as you want.
