How to Save Drafts in SendSites

By Declan · Updated May 2026

Save your in-progress proposal edits as named drafts so you can step away, protect custom layouts, and pick up exactly where you left off.

Drafts let you save a snapshot of a proposal you’re still building — custom layouts, rate matrices, and design tweaks included — under a name you choose. Save often while you work so nothing gets lost between sessions.

Open the Save Draft dialog

Inside the proposal editor, click Save Draft in the upper-left corner of the editing toolbar.

Tip

Save consistently throughout your design phase, especially after building intricate tables or custom text blocks.

Name your draft

In the Save my work as a Private Draft dialog, type a clear, recognizable name into the text field. Use something you’ll recognize later — a client name, an RFP reference, or a short tag like “Test”.

Decide whether to overwrite

If you’ve already saved an earlier draft under the same name, check Overwrite my existing drafts with this name to replace the previous version. Leave it unchecked to keep both versions side by side. Click Save when you’re ready.

Note

Overwriting is the cleanest way to keep your team’s shared workspace tidy — old, half-finished iterations roll into the latest version instead of cluttering the library.

Reopen a saved draft

When you come back to the platform, click New on the main dashboard, then switch to the Drafts tab to see your saved project cards. Click Choose on the draft you want to continue, and you’ll drop back into the editor exactly where you left off.

You’re set

Your draft is now stored privately under the name you chose. Keep saving as you go, and use the Overwrite option to keep your library focused on the current version of each proposal.
