Why are template thumbnail images spinning and how to fix it

Why thumbnail previews may appear to be loading and what it means for your workflow.

If you see template or section thumbnails spinning or loading, it usually means the system is generating preview images in the background.

Why thumbnails are spinning

Some areas of the platform use generated thumbnail images to preview content, including:

  • templates
  • sections

If these thumbnails haven’t been viewed recently, the system may need to regenerate them. This can take longer in larger accounts with more content.

What this means for you

A spinning thumbnail does not block any actions.

Even if the preview hasn’t loaded yet, you can still:

  • select templates
  • add sections
  • continue building your SendSite

The thumbnail is only a visual preview and does not affect functionality.

What to do

You can continue working as normal while thumbnails load in the background.

If needed, you can refresh the page or come back later once previews have fully generated.

When this might matter

In some areas, previews may help you identify the right content. If thumbnails are not loading after some time, try refreshing the page or checking back later.

Tip

If thumbnails appear stuck, it’s usually temporary. The system is generating previews in the background and will catch up over time.
